Seigar Recommends: “Paranoiac Intervals/Body Dysmorphia” by Of Montreal

Seigar, the photographer, is back.

Today I bring you some cheerful psychedelia from Kevin Barnes. The lyrics talk about craziness, offering his love and breaking the rules of time and numbers, an attraction that goes beyond spiritual love. In this chaotic mess, he is openly jealous, and it is also a master and servant relationship. The selfish love is expressed through the repeated lines “you should be f…. with no one else, anyone but me”. Into this bond, the body is transformed, a body dysmorphia occurs, and it feels ugly.

Kevin said this new LP was inspired by 80s club remixes and you can feel that energy all along the seven minutes tune, with this length the song tries to get close to those extended club edits from the 80s. We can’t deny its vibrant and joyful sense. Furthermore, its melody is as mainstream as he can create. We can for sure add this song to our year list on Spotify.

Exclusive physical love and paranoia brings distortion and fun. He has recently been through a catharsis, realizing the lies thrown into his life by the media, so now he is refusing the manipulation, the rules and the imposed social order. Check the video and you’ll understand everything better.
