Sam Recommends: “Aerials” by System of a Down

I’ve always been surprised by how much I like System of a Down’s music.

I remember being a bit frightened by their music videos when I first came across them in middle school, but I listened intently anyway.

Serj Tankian has such a unique and beautiful voice; it’s an incredibly interesting and effective foil to the band’s brash instrumentation.

Here’s one of my favorite SOAD tracks, wherein they share a message that really resonates with me:

When you lose small mind, you free your life.
