Memoir Mixtapes Vol.12: In the Lost and Found
After a long hiatus, we're thrilled to announce the return of Memoir Mixtapes with Volume 12, and we couldn't think of a more fitting theme for our comeback than "In the Lost and Found." (Taken from the title of one of our favorite Elliott Smith tracks.)
We invite you to explore what "In the Lost and Found" means to you, whether it's rediscovering a forgotten song, reclaiming a lost part of yourself, or finding meaning in the unexpected. Feel free to interpret this theme however makes the most sense to you.
What We’re Looking For: We're seeking personal essays and poetry inspired by music. Typically, our contributors focus on a single song, but we're open to pieces that draw inspiration from entire albums or multiple tracks. We highly recommend reading our past volumes for inspiration.
Submission Guidelines: For prose submissions, the sweet spot for Memoir Mixtapes tends to be between 3-8 pages. However, we're not strict on length—if your piece needs more or less room to breathe, we're here for it.
One submission per author please. Simultaneous subs are a-okay with us, as are previously published pieces.
Submission Period: Submissions will close on October 18th, 2024. We can't wait to read what you've found in the lost and found.
