Sam Recommends: “Cheating on You” by Franz Ferdinand

There are a few bands whose songs can instantly transport me back to my junior year of high school (2004–2005), which was a particularly magical year for me when it came to music.

That was the year I discovered Death Cab for Cutie, Interpol, The Killers, Modest Mouse, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Elliott Smith, The Cure, and the band behind today’s recommendation: Franz Ferdinand.

Franz Ferdinand’s music, like The Killers’, never struck a chord with me after their debut albums. But that’s okay because, damn man, they both put out amazing debut albums that I still love to listen to today.

This is my favorite track from Franz Ferdinand’s self-titled first album. It’s hard not to get up and dance when it starts, right?
