Seigar Recommends: “Crayons” by CupcakKe

Seigar, the photographer, is back.

CupcakKe, yeah, you read it right!

Mix some Missy Elliot vocals with Peaches’ spirit, and this is what you get: CupcakKe. Today, I present “Crayons,” the best new track for Pitchfork and also for Memoir Mixtapes.

This bombastic tune is one of the best tracks on the album, and its lyrics cry for equality and love in the raunchiest way. Her language is direct and sexual. She doesn’t use metaphors to express herself, she is as clear as possible. Acceptance, avoiding ignorance, embracing each other, loving and making love seem to be her motifs.

In Ephorize, best album of the year so far, we can find independent, peculiar and strong songs, all of them matched by a total free soul singer with a cheeky attitude. Her videos, photos and her attitude are close to pornography, but this doesn’t reduce the appeal we all can feel for this album. I’d say it all makes it richer. It’s about female expression rapping with no limits.

I guess CupcakKe wasn’t expecting all the feedback she is getting; she seems surprised in her Instagram account comments by all this attention. She has just won thousands of new fans, and the reviews of the album couldn’t be better. She is competing in Kanye West’s league now. And her Youtube channel is about to explode with her new video Duck Duck Goose, which includes dildos…

Other great tunes in the album are Cartoons, Wisdom Teeth, Fullest and Cinnamon Toast Crunch.
