Seigar Recommends: "The Deconstruction" by Eels
Seigar, the photographer, is back.
Today, I’m bringing you a fantastic track “The Deconstruction”. It talks about endings and new beginnings. In order to start again, things need to be broken first. Lost and death have always been common themes in the lyrics of this group.
Destruction brings newness. When I shared this song with DJ Nebras (Tenerife), he told me “this is pure 90s survival”. The band was formed in California in 1995, and Mark Oliver Everett (54 years old) has been its leader and mentor during all these years.
The sounds of the acoustic guitar and strings are delicious, and the R&B rhythm is both confidential and experimental. The group really achieved beauty with this song. This is their first release in nearly 4 years and what is going to be their 12th studio album. These are the words from the leader of the band about this record:
“The world is a mess. This is just music. Music by someone who tends to believe that change starts in your own backyard. I’m just optimistic enough to believe that kind of thing can still help people”.
